Shepshed Sevens 2003

   Sat 26th April  Shepshed Sevens 2003

Another successful Shepshed Sevens tournament over. Fantastic efforts from many connected to the club ensued the day ran even better than last year. With the weather staying dry and bright and the pitches in prime condition it really was quite a sight to see hundreds of kids playing football together. Many comments of thanks and appreciation were received from those taking part, for which we are very grateful.

In the competition the Under 8 division was won by Aylestone Park who scored a last minute equalising goal in the final to force a penalty shoot out against Ibstock Blues which they duly won. The Under 9 age group saw Loughborough Dynamo Greens run out winners beating Saffron Reds 4-0 in the final. In the Under 10 age group Ibstock Youth entered three teams and two of them fought their way through to the final with Ibstock Reds beating Ibstock Blues 2-0. The Under 11 division provided a home victory for Shepshed Blacks who beat Melton Foxes Blues in the final by a single goal scored in extra time.
